Area History
A little about Las Vegas, NM. This is where the Rockies meet
the plains. In the 1800's Las Vegas was one the wealthiest
towns in New Mexico. Las Vegas was a mercantile trade center
from the East to the West. People came from all over the
United States and this gave us the diversity of historic
building. You will find many styles of homes here from adobe,
Tudor style, glass block, Queen Anne, California mission style
and several other styles reflecting the diverse culture that
was here in the 1800's. Some of these wonderful buildings and
